April 12, 2009 Thanks to all those 60 people who attended our sold out lighting workshop LW3-1! Also huge thanks go out to Dave B for his help and Jojo for being a great host! The next in the series of lighting workshops will be in about a month so keep an eye out for the LW3-2! April 6, 2009 Don't forget that tonight, Monday, April 6th is our monthly club meeting. The theme for this meeting is "PRINTS, books and DVDs! OH MY!" So print out your favourite photos, gather up your favourite photography related books and DVDs (put your name on them all) and bring them out to the meeting! Date, time and location are available on the Events web page and in the Events forum. April 1, 2009 Happy April Fool's Day! No, despite the fairly convincing post this morning the WPC IS NOT SHUTTING DOWN! This was just a devilish April Fools Day joke by yours truly. Sorry to all those who where almost brought to tears, but rest assured we'll be around until photography goes out of style! April 1, 2009 Hey all, over the past year the club has grown with such ferocity it has been amazing! Sadly, in it's exponential growth, there has also been a similar increase in posting protocol violations. These vocations, although not a big deal on an individual basis, take up at least 1-2 hours of my time each day. So, after talking with Dave for the past month about this, I am shutting down the site. Although I am shutting it down indefinitely I may allow interested parties to take up the cause and take over the forum in whatever form they please. March 30, 2009 The WPC/Henry's photo contest deadline has been extended to April 8th, 2009. March 12, 2009 The United Way of Winnipeg is seeking donations of used digital cameras so hundreds of youth in our city will have a chance to learn about art and our community. March 11, 2009 Exactly one month from today the WPC presents our next big event: The WPC Lighting Workshop. This will be a studio AND natural light workshop with an instructor and two models. Please see the WPC Lighting Workshop S3-1 page for details. March 10, 2009 The WPC GS2 (garage sale #2) was a HUGE success with well over 200 people attending. March 9, 2009 TONIGHT! The WPC garage sale #2 & March monthly meeting Date: Monday March 9th Time: 6-9pm (doors to the garage sale open at 6pm) Location: Pony Corral downtown - 444 St Mary Come join us for our second annual garage sale. This is going to be an absolutely HUGE event for the club! With over 15 sellers plus both Don's and Henry's, we've already heard that people will be lining up early to get the best deals! You can check out the post on the WPC Buy and sell for a list of some of the gear that will be available to give you an idea of what will be on hand but this is only a partial list so for all the great deals you'll have to be there! Also, this is a general meeting so you're welcome to bring in prints or photo books. Bring your friends, bring your family, bring your friend's family! Come one come all! March 3, 2009 Take a look in our Contests forum for a new contest from the WPC and Henry's! The WPC & Henry's gallery wall contest - Two contests in one, including the chance to win a $50 Henry's gift certificate.
